The Bath Police Department seized 93 pairs of counterfeit Nike sneakers and other fake Nike products from a business at 29 Liberty St. The merchandise, valued at over $14,000, is considered a class E felony due to its value exceeding $1,000.
The case will be referred to the district attorney’s office for potential charges. This crackdown is part of a broader effort to address complaints about unlicensed cannabis sales and strong marijuana odors on Liberty St., which have discouraged residents and visitors from enjoying the area.
“We will continue to take action against stores selling counterfeit goods and operating without proper licenses,” said a police spokesperson. “Our goal is to maintain a welcoming environment for all.”
