Baldur’s Gate 3 Players On Console Are Being Limited To 100 Mods Per Save File (www.psu.com)

wasn’t just the game of the year for 2023, it was easily one of the best RPGs, and one of the best video games, this industry has seen in recent memory. You can play everything that Larian Studios crafted, without changing a thing, and have an excellent time.

But where’s the fun in that? It’s clearly far more fun to make your character look like weird Shrek, toss in Thomas the Tank Engine somewhere and vastly change the combat/gameplay to your will – or at least the will of someone else who had the same thought you did, and made a mod for it.

Mods are now on consoles, and it’s a credit to Larian that they’ve been able to make this work at all – however they’re not actually wizards, and there are limits to the mod magic Larian’s been able to do on consoles.

In a recent video regarding console mods, Aoife Wilson, a senior communications developer at Larian explained that the studio is actually hitting limits for how many mods can be enabled on a consoles save file, and keep Baldur’s Gate 3 running.

So because of that, console players are limited to 100 mods per save file. Which is something to watch, especially if you’re playing between a PC and a console via cross-save. If your PC file has well over 100 mods downloaded and enabled, it simply won’t work on your console “for the time being,” Larian says.

And if you’re the person making mods for players on PC and console, then there’s a whole process that you’ll need to go through to submit your mod for consoles, Wilson explains.
