Done deal: Atalanta agree deal with Udinese for Samardzic

Atalanta have now agreed a deal with Udinese for the transfer of Serbia international Lazar Samardzic according to reports in Italy.

La Dea have reached an agreement over a €20m price tag, with up to €5m in bonuses according to reports from Sky Sport Italia.

The Italian outlet adds that Samardzic is ready to travel and is expected to undergo a medical with his new club on Sunday.

Samardzic follows Brescianini to Atalanta

Atalanta had been pursuing a deal with Celtic for Denmark international Matt O’Riley, but had four bids turned down and were reportedly put off when the Glasgow giants rejected an offer in the region of €27m.

Samardzic has had no shortage of suitors in Serie A over the last year, as he had completed a medical with Inter last summer, only for that move to collapse in spectacular fashion.

The 22-year-old follows former Frosinone midfielder Marco Brescianini, who joined Gian Piero Gasperini’s side in a €12m deal on Friday.

The addition of two new midfielders means that Atalanta are now even closer to letting Teun Koopmeiners leave for Juventus.
