A Newark man is facing charges after a domestic altercation on Washington Street turned violent, ultimately leading to a tense encounter with law enforcement.
Nathaniel T. Clay, 40, was arrested Friday after allegedly throwing an object that struck another individual during a domestic dispute at his residence at 119 Washington Street, according to the Newark Village Police Department. Officers responded to the incident, where Clay reportedly resisted efforts to be taken into custody.
Despite his resistance, police were able to subdue Clay and take him into custody without further incident. He was charged with second-degree harassment and resisting arrest.
Following his arrest, Clay was transported to the Newark Village Police Department before being transferred to Wayne County Jail, where he is awaiting arraignment at the Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) court.
