A fire in a fourth-floor apartment at St. Mark’s Terrace in Penn Yan sent a resident to the hospital Tuesday afternoon for smoke inhalation.
The individual was airlifted by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital. Their condition remains unknown.
The fire was reported at 2 p.m. and quickly extinguished, with damage confined to a small area within the unit.
Emergency crews, including Penn Yan Fire and Ambulance and the Penn Yan Village Police, responded to the scene. The Himrod FAST Team was initially called but later stood down.
