It’s an organization that has archived thousands upon thousands of video game magazines, artwork, games – anything and everything to do with the history of video games.
Which is why it’s exciting to learn that the organization will be making its digital library available to the public next week, on January 30, 2025.
“Good things come to those who wait,” the organization wrote in a post on BlueSky. “The Video Game History Foundation Digital Library launches on January 30, 2025. (We’ll tell you all about it then!)”
In a separate statement (thanks, VGC), the organization added “After years of collecting, cataloging, and digitizing video game history materials, the VGHF is finally opening the virtual doors to its library – wherever you are.”
“Thanks to your support, we’ve built a powerful tool for video game history research. We can’t wait for you to get your first look at what we’ve been up to.”
With this resource becoming available to the public, researching anything about the history of video games will be so, so, so much easier than it was prior to this.
Anyone interested in video games would do well to check out the library when it launches, so they may be able to learn more about this art form that so many people around the world love and cherish.
