Parents in Macedon now have a new place to take their children for fun and creativity, thanks to the opening of The Playpen, a children’s activity center that focuses on play, crafts, and stress-free parties. Offering a range of services, including open play sessions, birthday parties, and monthly events, The Playpen aims to be a go-to spot for families in Wayne County. The center also provides a convenient drop-off service for busy parents looking for safe, engaging childcare.
The center is stocked with a wide range of toys, games, and craft projects to keep children entertained for hours. The focus is on providing a safe and clean environment where kids can explore their imaginations while parents relax and enjoy the experience.
Jen Wiedrick, the owner of The Playpen, brings over 20 years of corporate experience in sales, management, customer service, and marketing. After becoming a parent herself, Wiedrick saw a need for more local, affordable activities for kids, inspiring her to create The Playpen as a solution.
“Our goal is to offer a place where families can come together and enjoy quality time, without the hassle or mess that often comes with hosting events or finding things to do with kids,” Wiedrick said.
The Playpen team places a strong emphasis on safety and cleanliness. All staff members are CPR-certified by the American Heart Association and have extensive experience in childcare, ensuring a secure and engaging environment for every visitor.
The Playpen will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, October 24, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by a Halloween Party on Saturday, October 26, which will kick off their first monthly event.
