PlayStation’s Housemarque Studio Welcomes Bayonetta Origins Director Abebe Tinari

Abebe Tinari, the director of Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, has departed PlatinumGames for PlayStation-owned developer

.

Tinari-san will now serve as Lead Game Designer at the Returnal creator, having updated their LinkedIn profile to confirm the new role. It isn’t yet know what project Tinari is working on, but Housemarque is working on a triple-A title featuring boss fights (not that this narrows things down much).

Having worked at PlatinumGames for more than 10 years, Tinari has been involved in a number of major projects at the company, including Bayonetta 2, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Star Fox Guard, and the scrapped Xbox-exclusive Scalebound. Bayonetta Origin was released for the Nintendo Switch in 2023, with the series itself celebrating its 15th anniversary this month.
