The Buffalo Sabres (11-19-4) extended their losing streak to 13 games with a 3-1 loss to the Boston Bruins on Saturday night at the TD Garden.
JJ Peterka provided a glimmer of hope, scoring his second goal in as many nights to tie the game late in the second period. However, the Bruins regained control in the third, netting a power-play goal with 1:45 remaining and sealing the win with an empty-netter just 52 seconds before the final horn.
Goaltender James Reimer made 16 saves on 18 shots for the Sabres.
Buffalo will try to end their skid Monday night when they take on the New York Islanders at 7:30 p.m. in their final game before the Christmas break.
